Establishing the Cleft Prevalence in Malawi

Estimating the prevalence of cleft lip and/or palate (CLP) conditions in low and middle-income countries is important for guiding local resource provision and programmatic planning for cleft organizations working in these regions. We compared the prevalence of CLP in Malawi estimated through an epidemiological modelling study with the prevalence of CLP found through a countrywide community outreach program conducted by the Malawi Operation Smile Team of Patient Coordinators.
