Cleft Surgery
Dr. Pedro E. Santiago received his dental degree from the University of Puerto Rico, School of Dental Medicine and post-doctoral studies in Orthodontics, Pharmacology and Dental Research at the Eastman Dental Center, University of Rochester. In 1996, he became the first orthodontist in the US to receive a sub-specialty in craniofacial orthodontics from the Institute of Reconstructive Plastic Surgery at New York University. Dr. Santiago has also earned a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) from Creighton University in Nebraska.
Dr. Santiago was the founder, professor, and director of the Orthodontic Graduate Program and the Center for Craniofacial Disorders School of Dental Medicine, University of Puerto Rico. Dr. Santiago is the President and founder of EduCleft, a nonprofit devoted to global cleft and craniofacial education. He is currently the Director of Craniofacial Orthodontics and co-Director of the Cleft and Craniofacial Team at Duke University.
Dr. Santiago has published many scientific articles and book chapters in international orthodontic and surgical journals. He has been invited to speak in national and international meetings in over 30 countries.
