Florence Kuyt MD

Pediatrics
Florence Kuyt attended medical school in Brussels, Belgium where she grew up. She moved to California and after working as a research assistant, enrolled in a rotating internship at UCSF. She fell in love with pediatrics and transferred into their pediatric residency followed by a neonatal fellowship and a year as faculty. She found her home practicing clinical neonatology in a very active resident training program at Children’s Hospital Oakland, CA. Volunteering in LMICs as a teacher, running pediatric clinics in remote areas and in a refugee camp and joining surgical groups mostly focusing on patients with facial deformities has been so enriching and life changing, and a great counterbalance to a career spent in a high tech environment where the most challenging infants had access to the most sophisticated care. She also volunteered at home in clinics for the underserved and occasionally as a patient advocate. Her other loves are her family, her pets, travel, nature, and her international friends.
