Dede Kwadjo MPhil, BSc, RD
Nutrition & Dietetics
Ms. Dede Kwadjo, has over 12 years working experience in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics and is currently a Principal Dietitian working at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, Accra Ghana (under the Ministry of Health). She holds a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Science as well as a master’s degree in Dietetics from the University of Ghana. In addition, she has a certificate in Public Health Policy and Management under the Hubert H. Humphrey fellowship program from the Virginia Commonwealth University, USA.
She is an international Nutrition consultant with expertise in cleft care and burns management. She is currently a member of Operation Smile International’s Nutrition Advisory Council, representing Africa on the council. She is also the Nutrition Team Leader for Operation Smile Ghana as well as a “Nutrition Champion” helping to build capacity in other countries such as Ethiopia. She is a trainer and facilitator for other international organisations such as Interburns and ReSurge Africa partaking in training programs in Ghana and other countries such as India, Sierra Leone, and Malawi amongst others.
She is passionate about combating malnutrition in children and has initiated and heads a nutrition program to prevent and manage malnutrition in children with cleft conditions. In recent years Ms. Kwadjo has been involved in development of policies and protocols, training and research related to burns management and cleft care. She also actively engages in community health advocacy as well as being a preceptor for students and other health workers.
