Associate Professor David Chong is a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon committed to the care of those affected by facial differences. He trained in Plastic Surgery in Perth Australia before doing cleft/craniofacial fellowships in Dallas and Toronto. He is the current President of the Australasian Cleft Lip and Palate Society, and volunteers three months a year with Operation Smile and Mercy Ships. He has done over 30 missions with Operation Smile. He has recently taken on a role overseeing their commitment to education and outcomes.

David’s passion is correcting facial and skull deformities in children and is particularly known for his work in cleft lip and palate. He holds a clinical appointment at Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne Australia. He has authored numerous article and book chapters on cleft lip/palate, craniofacial and salivary control surgery.
