Dr. Reza Jarrahy is a Clinical Professor of Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Pediatrics at UCLA, recognized as a leading craniofacial surgeon in Southern California and beyond. His work has significantly advanced patient care, research, education, and global health initiatives in plastic surgery.
Born and raised in New York City, Dr. Jarrahy graduated as valedictorian from Hunter College High School before earning his Bachelor’s degree from Stanford University. He completed his medical education at SUNY Stony Brook, followed by residencies at NYU, UCSD, and UCLA. Since joining UCLA’s plastic surgery faculty in 2007, he has continued to lead and mentor in the field of craniofacial surgery.
Dr. Jarrahy’s expertise extends to complex craniofacial anomalies and reconstructive surgery of the head and neck. He serves in various leadership roles, including Assistant Chief of Plastic Surgery at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center and Co-Director of the UCLA Craniofacial Clinic. Known for his humanism and humanitarian efforts, Dr. Jarrahy regularly travels overseas to operate on children in developing nations and has been honored as a Global Health Champion for Operation Smile.
